Social and Saturday Golf


The chicken run on Thursday the 2nd saw 25 players playing a stableford round on a cold and windy day. The winner was Dave Love with 19 points on a count back from Jeff  Lodding. Nearest the pin on the 13th was won by Brian Johnson with a great shot just not quite in the hole. Next week will be a Par round on the front nine.

Only 2 players arrived for Saturday so no event was held.

Wednesday the 1st saw 13 women playing a stableford round in quite chilly conditions.  The winner of A Grade was Sue Verge with 36 points on a count back from Sally Bazeley and Ronda Richards. The B and C Grade winner was Lynne McLean with a good 39 points. The extra 9 hole winner was Richards with 20 points. Balls down the line for 18 holes went to McLean, Verge, Bazeley and Richards and 9 holes balls to Richards, Bazeley [19] Verge [18] and Maureen King [18] No nearest the pin was achieved. Wednesday the 8th will be stroke and Monthly Medal day with the 15th Stroke, Anti Cancer and G. V. Brooch day.

Men's Competition June 28


Steve Brook takes the honours at Nagambie golf club on Sunday with 38 stableford points, good to see Brook take the win after a extended absences from the winners circle. The Nagambie greens were in great condition with the ball rolling true thanks to the efforts of the Nagmbie ground staff, this would have aided Trevor Price, with one of the best short games in the club put together 35 points for runner up. Next best went to a guy who needs no introduction Neil Muir with 34 points, Neil was quoted that, 'He could have won the day had he not hit the wrong ball coming down the last.'


Nearest the pin awards went to M.Gale on the 3rd and 13th, Neil 'I swear it nearly went in Muir' on the 8th, J.Lodding skinning one onto the 16th. The Nagambie division 6 pennant team had a win at Mooroopna against Mooroopna to keep there final hopes alive, the boys won 3 & 2. Next weeks golf is a stroke monthly...

The chicken run on Thursday the 18th was a washout this week but we were very happy to have the glorious rain. 

The Saturday Unisex day saw just 4 players for a 9 hole stroke round with the winner being Gareth Bow 40-7-33nett. No nearest the pin was recorded.
