It was good to see 13 ladies playing this week for the Monthly Medal and Silver Spoon round. The Monthly Medal winner was Lynne McLean with 40 points also winning the B and C Grade event and for the fourth week in a row Deirdre Kleinig won the A Grade event with 34 points from Annette Mills on a count back. Nearest the pin on the 3rd was Irene Keogh. Balls down the line for 18 holes; McLean, Kleinig and Mills 9 hole balls to Kleinig, Annette Mills [18] and Ronda Richards [18] it was good to welcome Gay Henderson for her 1st game with the ladies.

Next Friday night the 20th of March is the last of the Mushroom Exchange 9 hole Ambrose nights. We are planning on having roast pork for the meal so we need to have the numbers by Wednesday the 18th and at the moment I haven't been given any teams. Can you let me 57942382, Barry 0418577900 or Dave 0466742411 know before then . The other important thig is that Helen Flood is finishing as the golf club treasurer on the 30th of June. We desperately need someone to take her place so are appealing to all you members for someone to step up and take her place. Helen would be quite happy to show anyone how she does the books or anyone can do them their way. Hoping to hear from you all on these 2 matters Cheers Ronda

Sunday at Nagmbie golf club was a monthly medal combined with the final round of the summer trophy with a good turn out of players coming to contest the days event, 26 in all. The day looked a treat with clear skies and sunshine but blustery winds of 40 to 50 kmph made low scoring difficult. The winner for the second week in a row went to steady performer Bill Leviston shooting a 87-16-71 a great score considering the conditions, this also gives Bill a chance for the gold medal playoff later in the year. Runner up on the day was Jeremy Ezard with a 74-2-72 followed by the Trevor Redfern with 106-34-72, Trevor was very pleased to have won a couple of balls in the tough conditions considering he loses 3 a round. The winner of the Summer trophy which goes to the most consistent golfer over a 5 round format went to David Love with a total of 210 beating club captain Barry Cryer by one stroke.

The chicken run on Thursday the 12th  saw a smaller field of only 14 players on a hot and  windy day. The winner was John Bond with a good score of 51-16.5-34.5nett. No nearest the pin was recorded and all cards were correct this week.

Saturday the 13th saw the wonderful rain again which the course loved but there were not enough players for a competition. Many thanks to all those members who have been watering the course over the summer but the rain was just what was needed.

The next Mushroom Exchange Ambrose will be on Friday the 27th of February starting with hit off from 4.30 pm to 6.30pm. Entries can be phoned to Ronda on 57942382 or Barry on 0418577900
