Stableford event was played at Nagambie golf club on Sunday with a smaller than usual field due the the club's winter pennant commitments, with a thick frost on the course and ground conditions heavy due to rain throughout the week low scoring was made difficult. The days winner was Tim Baldwin with 34 points, Tim striking his irons cleanly to hit plenty of greens in regulation. Runner up went to John James shooting 33 points, John tried desperately to chase down TIM in the closing holes only to miss out by one, next best was Harold Rayner also on 33 points.


The nearest the pins went to Trevor Price on the 8th and Bill Leviston on 13 with the two others not being hit. Pennant golf last week had two tight results, one going the way of Nagambie with division 5 winning 3&2 and division 6 going down 2&3. Men's Competition April 10


It was perfect Autumn weather and a big turn out of players for the 2nd Round of the Nagambie Golf Club championships on Sunday. The days event was the Frank Zanelli Memorial for the winner to go on the honour board, with 2 nett 69's carded a count back was needed to find the winner that being Gary Bow, the winning round also puts Gary into second place for the B grade championship. Runner up with a very steady round went to Alan Labas with nett 69 next best rounds for the day were Jeff Mills nett 70 and David Love, Lindsay Hall with nett 71's.

The nearest the pins went to Jeff Mills on the 8th, Greg Whiteman plonking it onto the 13th, and David Love with a pure strike on the 16th. The second round of the club championship provided a mix bag of results, Jeremy Ezard leads Michael Sloan by 5 strokes for the championship, A grade nett leader is Mark Nolan, B grade leader is David Love and C grade is Joe Labas....

Social Golf


The chicken run on Thursday the 8th  saw 31 players out for a stableford round in lovely sunshine with the course having soaked up the 7 mls of rain we had. The winner was Jenny Jeong with a great 21 points. Nearest the pin on the 8th was Ian Richardson. The 11th of April will be a Par round on the back nine.

Saturday the 9th saw 6 players out in beautiful sunny weather playing a 9 hole Par round. The winner was Tina Gribbin with a great +5. Andrea Richards won nearest the pin on the 8th.

Wednesday the 6th  golf started with 9 ladies out playing a stableford round, but then the rain started half way around so the 9 became a 5. We still had 2 grades and the winner of A Grade was Annette Mills with 33 points and B & C Grade was won by Lynne McLean with 30 points. Irene Keogh won the extra 9 hole event with a great 20 points. Only 1 nearest the pin was achieved by Moz Fowler on the 3rd.  Balls for 18 holes went to Mills and McLean and 9 hole balls to Keogh and Mills on 18 points. Wednesday the 13th of April will be stroke with the 20th Stableford and Monthly Medal.
